Antique Noritake Morimura Double Handled Cake Plate, Encrusted Gold Moriage Scroll & Floral Medallions, Porcelain Serving Tray c. 1911-1940s
$55.00
Flanked by two beautifully sculpted and heavily gilded open pierced handles, this Noritake Morimora Brothers shallow serving dish is as much an exquisite cabinet display piece as it is a functional tray for pastries, finger sandwiches, or confectionery. This is the perfect gift for a bride, or someone who values elegance. ~7" diameter.
Dating from the highly desirable early 20th-century export period (circa 1911–1940), this plate features a smooth cream porcelain center beautifully framed by an extraordinarily rich, heavy gold encrusted border. The rim is intricately decorated with embossed gold moriage scrolls, delicate lattice webbing, elegant stylized floral medallions, and fine hand-beaded textural detailing.
